Description
Insecure plugin handling in Mattermost
Mattermost version 6.4.x and earlier fails to properly check the plugin version when a plugin is installed from the Marketplace, which allows an authenticated and an authorized user to install and exploit an old plugin version from the Marketplace which might have known vulnerabilities.
How this vulnerability can be exploited
This issue can be reached over the network, attack complexity is low, an attacker needs administrative privileges on the target. No user interaction is required. The scope is unchanged, so the impact stays within the vulnerable component. Rated impact: confidentiality low, integrity low, availability low.
