Description

In Ankitects Anki before 25.02.5, a crafted shared deck can place a YouTube downloader executable in the media folder, and this is executed for a YouTube link in the deck. The executable name could be youtube-dl.exe or yt-dlp.exe or yt-dlp_x86.exe.

How this vulnerability can be exploited

This issue can be reached with local access to the system, attack complexity is high, an attacker needs no privileges on the target. No user interaction is required. The scope is unchanged, so the impact stays within the vulnerable component. Rated impact: confidentiality high, integrity high, availability none.
