Description

SQLitePCLRaw.lib.e_sqlite3 has a vulnerable dependency on SQLite

There exists a vulnerability in SQLite versions before 3.50.2 where the number of aggregate terms could exceed the number of columns available. This could lead to a memory corruption issue. We recommend upgrading to version 3.50.2 or above.

How this vulnerability can be exploited

This issue can be reached over the network, attack complexity is high, an attacker needs low-level privileges on the target. No user interaction is required. The scope is changed, meaning a successful attack can affect components beyond the vulnerable one. Rated impact: confidentiality low, integrity high, availability low.

CVSS metrics in full

The score comes from this vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:L/I:H/A:L

  • Attack vector: Network — reachable from anywhere that can route to the service.
  • Attack complexity: High — the attacker first has to win a race, learn a secret or otherwise prepare the target.
  • Privileges required: Low — an ordinary user account is enough.
  • User interaction: None — nobody has to be tricked into anything.
  • Scope: Changed — a successful attack reaches components beyond the vulnerable one.
  • Confidentiality impact: Low — limited, and the attacker does not choose what is affected.
  • Integrity impact: High — total loss, or loss the attacker controls.
  • Availability impact: Low — limited, and the attacker does not choose what is affected.

Weakness class

CVE-2025-6965 is classified as CWE-197: Numeric Truncation Error. Truncation errors occur when a primitive is cast to a primitive of a smaller size and data is lost in the conversion.
