Description

jadx is a Dex to Java decompiler. Prior to 1.5.6, jadx-gui is affected by an HTML injection vulnerability in the Summary tab because SummaryNode.java appends arches and perArchCount values derived from .so file path components inside an APK into an HTML panel without escaping. A malicious APK with an HTML URL-encoded ZIP entry name can force rendering of arbitrary HTML, perform out-of-band requests, disclose the victim IP address, or interact with locally exposed applications. This issue is fixed in version 1.5.6.

How this vulnerability can be exploited

This issue can be reached with local access to the system, attack complexity is low, an attacker needs no privileges on the target. A user must be tricked into taking some action. The scope is changed, meaning a successful attack can affect components beyond the vulnerable one. Rated impact: confidentiality low, integrity none, availability none.

Weakness class

CVE-2026-42447 is classified as CWE-79: Cross-site Scripting (XSS). User-supplied data is written into a page without escaping, so attacker script runs in the browser of anyone who views it.
