Ghidra before 12.1 contains a heap-use-after-free vulnerability in SleighBuilder::generatePointerAdd caused by iterator invalidation when PcodeCacher::allocateInstruction reallocates the issued vector. Attackers can trigger memory corruption by decompiling malicious binaries through the public Sleigh::oneInstruction C++ API, affecting downstream SLEIGH library consumers.
This issue can be reached with local access to the system, attack complexity is low, an attacker needs no privileges on the target. A user must be tricked into taking some action. The scope is unchanged, so the impact stays within the vulnerable component. Rated impact: confidentiality none, integrity low, availability high.
The score comes from this vector: CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:H
CVE-2026-49496 is classified as CWE-416: Use After Free. Memory is used after being released, so its contents may already belong to something else.
