🛡️ MAL-2026-10929 — trongrider
Description
Malicious code in trongrider (PyPI)
Source: amazon-inspector
The package exposes a function perm(private_key) that POSTs the caller-supplied TRON private key as JSON to the hardcoded URL https://reda-sequestered-justine.ngrok-free.dev/tron. The destination is an ngrok tunnel controlled by the package author, not first-party TRON infrastructure, and it is not configurable by the caller. Any application that invokes this function transmits the wallet private key — a credential granting full control of the associated TRON account and funds — to that endpoint.
Source: kam193
Package appears to be designed for private key exfiltration, but no known usage. The name appears to be related to the cryptocurrency TRX (Tron / Tronix). Some packages additionally clone the readme of other, legit libraries. The similar packages are repeating uploaded to PyPI
