🛡️ MAL-2026-12026 — cors-version
Description
Malicious code in cors-version (npm)
Source: amazon-inspector
The CommonJS entry src/index.cjs exports getPlugin(), which performs an HTTPS GET to the hardcoded host astonishing-torrone-ffb31e.netlify.app with TLS verification disabled (rejectUnauthorized: false) and passes the response body directly to new Function(..., require)(require), executing the retrieved JavaScript inside the caller's Node.js process with full require access. The package advertises itself as a zero-dependency SVG utility library and its ESM sibling src/index.mjs does not expose getPlugin, so the remote loader is only present in the CJS build and is unrelated to any declared functionality. Any consumer that imports the package and invokes getPlugin() — or downstream tooling that resolves plugin factories by name — will fetch and run attacker-controlled JavaScript, and the disabled TLS check additionally exposes the fetch to MITM substitution.
